Counting Our Blessings

CountingblessingNot a week goes by where I do not stop what I’m doing and express my gratitude for being with my family, friends, and colleagues.

I do not drop to my knees to pray, but silently say thank you to God.

  • I’m grateful for having gone through this adventure as it has taught me new perspectives.
  • I’m thankful for having supportive people around me, who express their delight that I’m still here.
  • I’m joyful that I get to spend more time with my kids and a wonderful wife.
  • I’m delighted that I’ve learned to eat healthier and becomes a healthier person.

Listening to some music makes me remind myself about the above blessings, and I can highly recommend Rend Collective. Their music is joyful, sharing and spiritual.

Sometimes when driving I put their tracks on and hum along, although I’m useless at signing 🙂  It does not have to be spiritual music, but I’m sure you have some music that makes you smile, sing and hum along.  That’s the healing music.

I count my blessings daily.

I try to be more positive in my interactions with colleagues, even with colleagues I’ve had difficulties dealing with in the past.

There are more important things than holding on to grudges or arguing about silly details in projects.

Dealing with people differently also allows you to drop the stress levels. That, in turn, helps you manage blood pressure and your well being.

I would encourage you to share your story with people, if they, of course, want to listen, and take some time to count your blessings.

You do not have to be spiritual. Just talk to yourself, write it down or talk about it. It helps put things in perspective and you will soon notice you get more relaxed.

This experience has made me a better man – I think and hope – but only people around me can confirm that, and only the Lord can judge me when I do come to pass.

Count your blessings.

Hug your family.  Smile to friends.  Help your colleagues.  Be the better person 🙂

I leave you with a video that can only share happiness.
