Meal Plan: Week 27, 2024 – We Celebrate Independence Day Week … no alien invasion, I hope!

This week we celebrate the most fabulous day in American history; after kicking some serious ass fighting the British, we took control of this country, eliminating the Imperial rule.

Lady Liberty is shining the light of freedom and hope!

Many patriots fought bravely against tyranny, fighting for a free country, eliminating the oppression of foreign control, and allowing people to live free.

all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, and that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness

On this day, the 4th of July, we commemorate events in 1776 when the Second Continental Congress officially adopted the Declaration of Independence, declaring the colonies’ independence from Britain. Our founding fathers signed the most important document of our time.

We are a great nation with exceptional people, a fantastic history, and excellent opportunities for all. Granted, we sometimes have problems but will overcome the challenges and become even stronger.

I’m honored that we have adopted me (we) as citizens after going through a lengthy legal and immigration process.

It is also the day Will Smith flew into space to eliminate a giant alien mothership, while Bill Pullman fired back at the alien invasion with his iconic speech.

Week Twenty-seven Meals

To celebrate the 4th of July week, I have decided to cook meals like people did in the past, using a Blackstone griddle, a Traeger grill, and a Breeo fire pit.

All meals will be cooked outside this week and fresh every day.

We will explore a variety of meat, a few vegetables, and some delicious sides. We celebrate the anti-vegan lifestyle and worship the glorious protein from eating healthy organic meat sourced locally – except for the shrimp.

We will enjoy some cornbread, tortillas, grilled potatoes, beetroot, and mushrooms for the sides, all bought from our local farmer’s market. I’m honored to support the farmers who keep the country going with delicious produce.

School Lunches

In honor of the 4th of July, we will send the kids out to harvest squirrels, pick vegetables from the neighbor’s kitchen garden, and make lemonade. They have to learn to live off the land.

Or, we can buy bagels and let them create their patriot-inspired lunch sandwiches.

Dinner Time

I will not be preparing any meals in advance this week. The main reason is that I will cook outside using the Blackstone griddle, and then we will BBQ some meat the rest of the week.

The other reason is that I’ve taken a few days off work to spend time with the family, celebrate the 4th of July in style, and focus on my health.

Cooking using a Blackstone griddle is like having your hibachi place at home. Except that you are not eating around the skillet, but you cook the same way. You bring the various ingredients outside and cook it on the large 36″ skillet, and you can adjust the temp based on what you are cooking. Everything is cooked fresh.

That said, I did boil some rice before cooking Monday night’s dinner—a simple fried rice with shrimp on the Blackstone.

Tuesday night is another Blackstone dinner, where I will make quesadillas with chicken.
