Happy Birthday, America, this awesome country!

Flashback to 1776. The colonial times were in a full roll, although the Americans were growing very unhappy with their British rulers. It was time to separate ourselves from the imperial monarchy and claim our independence.

The American Revolution was in roaming across these colonies. Blood was being spilled in the name of freedom and kicking some serious English arse.

In reality, Independence Day, when the continental congress voted to break the bonds, on the 2nd of July 1776. A couple of days later, on the 4th of July, the 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence = the north of the American Independence Day.

To this day, we honor the heroes of 1776 and celebrate with festivities. BBQ, beer, garden games, burgers, chicken wings … meat until we drop. When the dusk rolls in, we light up the skies with fireworks, showing everyone that the Old Glory and the American patriotism still exist.

Neighborhoods come together. We join our local community with music, laughter, food stalls, and plenty of smiles. This year, with no masks! We can truly live free again, lifting the dark clouds imposed by powers to be, and roam calmly among friendly faces.

We are immigrants arriving in the US 10 years ago, and it has been an absolutely fantastic experience so far. It culminated in 2018 and 2019 when we became US citizens. Our new home and country are full of diversity, awesome people, and tremendous opportunities for every person who lives here.

Happy 4th of July to all my amazing brothers and sisters in this cool country!
