Thank God It’s Friday (T.G.I.F.)
My Irish friends renamed this to T.G.I.F.F. = Thank God It’s Fucking Friday
Friday has arrived and it is time to celebrate another week coming to an end, and you can spend time with family and friends.
Friday calls for a party, laughs, and of course a little alcohol if you are a responsible adult over the age of 21 in the US.
You gotta admit, Katy Perry rocked this Friday song, and it resembled my Friday evenings in the ’90s.
I vividly remember Friday afternoon, at 5 pm, and my boss would say “time for Friday beers”. We would drive to the local off-license, pick up a few beers (two each) and drink them while driving home. I probably shouldn’t be sharing this criminal offense, and in today’s climate, this will haunt me for the rest of my life. My career in politics is over!
Friday is always about winding down, getting a few beers, let your hair down (if you have hair), and gather with friends + family to celebrate another week successfully completed.
Even if you had a shitty week, you deserve to switch off and relax. You have at least 60 hours without work, and time to recharge your batteries.
Back in Ireland, we would head to the pub for a few pints after work, which was absolutely the highlight of the week. Many times one pint would lead to two pints, and before I knew it, I was crawling on to the night bus heading home.
Saturday morning was written off, but after midday, I recovered and could spend time with my lovely family.
