Meal Plan; 3 – 7 May

Well, hello to the fabulous month of May!

We kick off the week with a socialist and worker’s union celebration. 1 May is when the awesome Danish king, Christian the 3rd, (III), who ruled Denmark and Norway, arrived in Veere in Holland (Netherlands). I’m not too sure why that is relevant, but it is Danish history.

1st of May is also known as International Worker’s Day. The Marxist (a useless and a shitty political movement) adopted this day in 1889 to resolve a “great international demonstration.” Since then, it has been used for various demonstrations around the World to fight for worker’s rights.

Then we celebrate Cinco de Mayo, a Mexican party day, which has nothing to do with the Mexican independence days. On the contrary, it celebrates (and rightfully so) a significant win over the French in 1862. Today, we use this day as an excuse to drink tequila, eat quac (aka guacamole), and indulge in Taco Tuesday treats.

We love and enjoy Cinco de Mayo – any excuse to eat and drink is most welcome!

The Danes, however, celebrated the liberation from the Nazis on the 5th of May 1945. It is an amazing day where many homes in Denmark light up the windows with candles to show that they no longer need to live in darkness and cover air raids.

Nazis are idiots! They killed and oppressed people across Europe, to push their ideology of a superior nation and people.

Enough history. You can find important, and other strange holidays the World celebrates in May. We are certainly a strange bunch of people who have bizarre ways to celebrate life.

Time to look at the meal plan. I will attempt to create some dishes to celebrate important holidays. It goes without saying that we need to have tequila and tacos on the 5th of May.

You can nuke the food in the microwave or slowly defrost it on the kitchen counter. Once defrosted, you heat it gently on the stove or in the oven. Easy school dinners.

Have a fantastic week my friends. I hope you enjoy theses meal plans. It is so much easier to make food in advance, although you need to invest several hours during the weekend to prepare the meals.
