Song of the day: Dreams

It’s huhump daymp day – we made it and it’s going to be a great day.

Due to my slight Scandinavian skewed sense of humor and English being my second language, I always thought hump had some deeper meanings … perhaps in a more naughty way.

It is only in the past few years that I released that it was to celebrate the middle of the week, Wednesday, and not a way to embrace the naughtier side of human nature.

The Cranberries, led by the gorgeous Dolores O’Riordan, released their debut album in 1993, and it featured an amazing song called ‘Dreams’.  It may also sound rather weird that this album and this song was one of the reasons I wanted to move to Ireland.

Oh, my life

Is changing every day

In every possible way

Perhaps it was the possibility of bumping into Dolores that enticed me, the wonderful lyrics and tunes from the trad music in Ireland, their rich history, or perhaps the opportunity to sample the Guinness.

I absolutely loved my years in Ireland.  It became my second home.  They adopted me as one of their own, and are a terrific bunch of people.
