It’s the season to be jolly, but also the season of man flu, colds, throat ache, and the dreaded flu. Christmas is loverly, albeit dangerous 🙂
I’ve dabbled with hot whiskey, honey & lemon syrup, ginger & lemon tea, and lemon, ginger and & honey mixture. They all work very well, and I highly recommend these to anybody suffering from winter bugs
Please note, do not give kids whiskey, or any alcohol!
Recently I tried a nice turmeric tea at the local vegan cafe, and have to admit, it was really nice and had some very positive side effects.
In true Viking Heart Within spirit, I started to explore turmeric in more detail and found that it has natural antibiotics and features that will help your body heal and get stronger.
Here’s a great recipe I found for Turmeric infused honey
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric(of therapeutic quality )
- ¼ cup raw honey
- 2 drops lemon essential oil (optional)
Mix all the ingredients in a jar, and stir it well to really mix all ingredients together.
Cover the jat and store the mixture at room temperature, not in the fridge. The coolness of the fridge will make the honey stiffen up, and it becomes hard to work with.
Take about 1/2 a teaspoon a couple of times a day, to help you fight off the nasty bugs that have invaded your body and made you feel like crap.
